BuboBox offers you the tools to create custom campaigns, without any technical knowledge. But how do you get started with BuboBox? In this step-by-step guide, I’ll show you how to create your first custom campaign in just a few basic steps.
First of all, you have to log in through the BuboBox Login Screen.
Once you are logged it, you’ll see the BuboBox Dashboard. It informs you directly on what’s happening on your campaigns. At the top of the screen, you’ll see 5 different tabs:
- Dashboard: gives you an overview of your current account’s activity
- Create: offers you the possibility to create your own custom campaign
- Challenges: gives you an overview of all of the challenges you created so far
- Ambassadors: get valuable insights about the ambassadors of your brand
- Help: Any questions? You’ll probably find the answer here
Let’s get started!
To create your own campaign, you just click on the “Create” button on the top of the screen. What you see, is an overview of all the campaigns you can create with BuboBox. You can choose between:
- Audio Challenge
- Image Challenge
- Instagram Challenge
- Net Promotor Score
- Card Creator
- Product Sampling
- Speech Bubble
- Sweepstakes Challenge
- Testimonial Challenge
- Video Challenge
Let’s say we want to create an Image Challenge to collect relevant pictures of your customers. Once you hit the Select button, a wizard pops up that guides you through a couple of steps. Note that the steps for an Image Challenge might be different than those for a Quiz. In this case, we have 7 different steps to run through.
Some Tip & Tricks before we get started:
- During the wizard, you can hit the “Save and Next” button, or simply click on the next step through the tabs
- You don’t have to run through all the steps in the beginning. You can simply skip steps and configure them later
Step 1: Name your challenge
Give a relevant name to your challenge. It’s this name that appears in the overview of your challenges, if you click the “Challenges” button next to the create tab.
Note: the Challenge name can’t be edited later on, so think wisely…
Step 2: Select your language
You can choose between 3 different languages (Dutch, French and English). Select the relevant languages for your particular activation. We check your language, based upon your Facebook language and browser language. If it corresponds with one of the selected languages, the challenge is shown in the right language or the default language will be shown.
Step 3: Pick a template
You can choose between one of 6 basic templates, that allow you to create campaigns in a whip.
Apart from our basic templates, we also offer an advanced section, that allows you to create custom templates in the look and feel you prefer. You can create your very own custom templates through ourGitHub Templating system.
Step 4: Gather relevant content for the chosen template
In this step, you can explain through your copy what you expect of your audience, what they can win, etc. The content you enter during this step, will be placed in the template you’ve selected.
Next to each text field, depending on the selected languages, you have different language tabs, allowing you to fill in the right copy per language.
Note: depending on the template you’ve selected, this screen will be different.
Every single element, like font, colour, size, position, … that is predefined above, can be changed. To do this, you need to click on the “Show advanced options” link at the button of the screen. A text-edit screen is shown, where you can overwrite CSS-styles.
If you don’t know your copy at the time you set up your challenge, you can fill this in later, by following these steps:
- Click on the top of the page on the tab “Challenges”.
- Click on the name of the challenge of which you want to change the copy. The Dashboard of that particular challenge is shown.
- Click on the button “Edit copy now”, on the right hand side of the screen.
- Enter your copy, when you have finished writing it. You can always change the copy later on.
- Don’t forget to click on the “Save”-button (bottom of the page) and afterwards on the “Deploy”-button (top of the page.
Step 5: Pick the right modules
Every campaign you create has a different purpose. To fulfil the purpose of each challenge, we created a set of modules, allowing you to define the different steps of your campaign. Activating modules will have a direct effect on your challenge (e.g.: do you have to accept the Terms & conditions first? Do I want to collect data from Instagram? Do I want to sent custom e-mails to the participants? Do I want to activate the leaderboard? …).
If you activate a module, you can configure the module right away, or you can do it later on. Each module can be activated and de-activated whenever you want.
Step 6: Publish your campaign on Facebook (Optional)
This step isn’t required. You can easily launch your campaign on a website (see “Embedded Code” in the administration panel), or you can install it later on Facebook. If you prefer to install the challenge right away on your companies Facebook Page, you simply click the “Connect to Facebook”-button.
If it’s the first time you install a challenge on Facebook, a Pop up shows up, asking you to grant permission to BuboBox. This gives us insights in the pages of which you are admin. All these pages are shown in the wizard, allowing you to select the company on which you wish to install the challenge.
By selecting your company page, you can pick a cool name for your Facebook Tab, choose the right thumbnail and you are good to go. Once you hit the “Install the app” button, your challenge will be installed on the selected Facebook page.
Congratulations, you just created your first custom campaign.
All the settings you have made during the wizard, can be adapted in the back office, expect the name of the challenge. So if you don’t have all the details of your challenge, don’t hesitate to start creating a campaign. Once you get the right input, just fill it in and see the evolution of your beautiful campaign.
